In my opinion "resolution" is putting the cart before the horse. It is the tail end of the process needed to create lasting change in one's life.

Imagine this. You have an old computer sitting on your desk from when you were a child. Maybe for some reading this computers weren't around when you were younger. Even better. Then visualize your encyclopedia Britannica set.

Now imagine going out and buying the latest and greatest software for your desired area of growth. Now take it home and run it on your old encyclopedias or your first computer you ever had. Absurd right? Waste of money and time? Well that's what we as a society are doing when we set resolutions without upgrading our belief systems.

What if you were still using the old books or your old computer? How about your first phone? You wouldn't even be able to browse on the latest version of your favorite search engine and have access to new information. You literally couldn't keep up. This is what happens with our belief systems. They limit our perception. They form a selective filter and what get's through is based solely on what you believe to be real. Imagine using old outdated encyclopedias to search for growth? It's possible that you wouldn't even know that apps exist or that other resources were available simply because you don't have the means or ability to see them.

Let's take a look at "Resolution".

Resolution- noun

1. To resolve or the act of resolving. Complete. Make a firm decision.

Based on what belief system and running on what software?

2. To find a possibility or solution to something?

How did the vantage point change? What was the shift? Where is the awareness? What was the root of the problem?

3. Resolution music- the tone or chord to which a dissonance is resolved.

Again the progression has already taken place and is to now be resolved with a tone or chord. (We can also use the word "vibration" here. I will expand on this another time). How do we change the initial progression that needs resolution?

4. The degree of sharpness of a computer-generated image.

Sounds like vision to me. What forms our vision? Our filter. What forms our filter?  Our belief system. So then nothing has changed. We will continue to see what we always have.

Now let's take a look at "Revolution".

Revolution - noun

1. A sudden, complete or marked change in something.

Ok. Now we have the words complete and change in the definition. It could be sudden it could not, the speed of change will be relative to each individual situation.

2. A procedure or course, as if in a circuit, back to a starting point.

Interesting. Now a certain path or progression is acknowledged, traced back to the beginning, and is likened to electrical current.

3. Astronomy.

  1. the orbiting of one heavenly body around another.

  2. a single course of such movement.

This is literally "New Years" what we are basing our year upon. The Earth's trip around the sun.

The first step is developing the awareness of self. Put systems and practices in place that provide clarity and lead to discernment of your patterns and behavior. There are many paths up the mountain that lead to the top. Your yoga practice and float experiences are a great place to start.

Identify if these patterns and behaviors are serving you or if they get to change.

Trace back and identify the root cause or event that formed the belief system. This is what triggers the behavior.  Once identified, alter the past by changing your perception or vantage point of the event.

This will “upgrade” your entire software and change your default settings. All programs written after said event that held the code as truth will automatically be upgraded in time.

May you experience your highest self this revolution of 2017.

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.
